The story of Maison Lorentz is one of love, wine and marrying the daughters of people in high places!

Jean-Georges Lorentz was an 18th century winegrower and blacksmith who settled in the town of Bergheim in Alsace. His son Pierre Lorentz married the youngest daughter of the local town mayor.

A few years passed, a couple of new branches to the Lorentz family tree were added and in 1836 the Maison Lorentz was formed. Seven generation later it’s George Lorentz who’s running the show and exporting wine made from their own vineyards to over 60 countries, all certified organic since 2012.

There’s nowhere on earth that produces aromatic styles of white wine quite like Alsace (pronounced Al-zass), a region in the north-east of France that borders Germany. It’s the home of intensely rich, dry, spicy whites and like Champagne from Champagne or Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, it’s often imitated but rarely matched. It’s the real deal!

Off-dry in style this is the benchmark richly flavoured, richly textured, perfurmed and aromatic Gewurztraminer that simply has to be tried. These wines are simply heavenly with food – try this with spicy Asian cuisine, white meats or if you want to do French style then try with duck or goose foie gras!
