Pinot Noir is a red grape which has found in New Zealand a home away from home. Intense, elegant and fruit-driven in style, Pinot Noir is an extremely food friendly wine which may exhibit an array of vibrant flavours including red fruit, plum, cherry, currant, often with notes of clove and spice.
An aromatic Pinot Noir with a lively personality, this wine expresses strawberries, raspberries and red cherries on the nose, the hallmarks of a classic Marlborough Pinot Noir. The ruby colour in the glass suggests juicy summer red fruits on the palate, intermingled with flavours of freshly roasted coffee beans and dark cocoa. Silky soft tannins and a hint of dried herbs linger on the finish.

The 2018 growing season started with an excellent spring and a strong flowering period which was followed by a long spell of hot weather with regular rainfall events through the summer months. With ample soil moisture, our harvest started earlier than the previous two vintages, luckily the cooler
autumn weather helped retain natural acidities as the season progressed.
The Private Bin Pinot Noir is a blend from specially chosen vineyards in the Awatere and Wairau Valleys. The varying soil types, meso-climates offer different tannin structures, flavours and aromas to the wine.
