Winemaker Corey Ryan has used a nifty blend of five Pinot clones from a single vineyard site in the sub-region of Lowburn to create this shiny-new and snappy fresh style.
Garnet-hued and stacked with classic redcurrant, dried thyme, rhubarb and wild cherry notes on the nose and palate. Freshly-turned earth and woodsmoke combine to add savoury complexity, and there’s a lushness from the inclusion of a 20% whole bunch component in the ferment.
A year maturing in a combination of 25% new French oak and 75% older barrels has injected a soft, toasty topnote to its textures. Bottled unfiltered to preserve its essential characters.
