Since the 1870’s the time aged mill has stood strong on the banks of the Ngaruroro River. Mill Road captures the essence that has consistently been associated with New Zealand wine.
The complimentary blending of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon is a long accepted winemaking style. The Merlot provides sweet fruit flavours and plumpness on the palate, while the Cabernet Sauvignon is a little more taut and structural on the palate and often more herbal in the aroma.
The results of the superb 2014 vintage are immediately evident in this deep red wine. Concentrated aromas of blackberry and chocolate with a hint of leather. The palate is full bodied, plump and juicy with sweet ripe fruit flavours supported by fine chalky tannins.
